38th Annual Montini Catholic Fashion Show Benefits San Miguel Scholarship Fund

Montini Catholic alumni and their parents sipped, shopped and sparkled on Sunday, Dec. 5 at the 38th Annual Lasallian College Preparatory High School Fashion Show, held this year in the school pavilion and in the newly renovated auditorium.

Model students, proud parents, friends and fashionistas kicked off the Christmas season in style.

“This event gives us the opportunity to fulfill the dream of a Catholic education for deserving students through our San Miguel Fund,” said Principal Kevin Beirne, who showed his support this year by serving as emcee.

The Christmas-themed fashion extravaganza is a highly anticipated Montini tradition. The show featured fashionable and casual wear, formal wear, furs and sparkling evening dresses, all modeled by juniors, seniors and alumni of Montini and all for a good cause – benefiting the Fund San Miguel de Montini.

The scholarship fund helps provide financial assistance to Catholic families in Montini who are experiencing hardship, such as serious illness, death, or serious financial hardship. It offers students the opportunity to get a Catholic education that they could not otherwise afford.

The event was chaired by Catholic Montini parents, Amy Caveney (Class of 1994), Melissa Gramann, Jennifer Sidler and Rhonda Sipchen and the fashion show was produced by Eugenia Scavone (Class of 1984) and Carrie Pionke.

The day of celebration included lunch, a pre-show vendor shop, and raffle opportunities before students and alumni took the stage.

Fashions featured included Jayne (Glen Ellyn), LL Bean (Downers Grove), Kie & Kate Couture (Elmhurst), Hazyl Boutique (Elmhurst), Tommy Bahama (Downers Grove), Black Tie Formalwear (Glen Ellyn), Peaches ( Chicago) and York Furrier Inc. (Elmhurst).

“I always have a heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to all of our attendees for their support of our annual fashion show, as well as the committee chairs, members and volunteers,” said President Jim Segredo. “This event is always so fun and allows us to come together as a school community and celebrate the Christmas season together, while supporting a great, great cause.”
