Amy Grant among stars appearing at Celebrity Showroom in April – Macomb Daily

Amy Grant kicks off April with new music and tried-and-true classics Friday night at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren.

A few more seats have opened up this week for the show by the six-time Grammy-winning singer and crossover Christian music icon.

Along with his past tracks such as “Baby, Baby,” “Every Heartbeat” and “El Shadda,” Grant will perform his new version of a cover of Jackie DeShannon’s 1969 classic “Put A Little Love in Your Heart.” A music video that accompanies the song includes photos and fan-submitted videos from her 2021 Line By Line Tour.

Grant, who is married to country music superstar Vince Gill, is also known for her philanthropic work, as seen here in Macomb County when she donated her appearance fees to Macomb Habitat for Humanity during from a benefit show a few years ago.

Tickets are $125, $89, $69 and $39.

Also on the program for April:

• Killer Queen presents a tribute performance to the music and look of rock band Queen on Saturday night. Patrick Myers does an admirable job portraying the late vocalist Freddie Mercury as the frontman of the band.

Tickets are $62, $52 and $28.

Italian tenor Pasquale Esposito returns to the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom on Saturday evening.

• Closing out the weekend is the return of pop opera and PBS superstar Pasquale Esposito on Sunday.

The Italian-born American tenor is celebrating the 10th anniversary of the “Il Tempo” tour, which features songs from the 1880s to the present day. Audiences will hear Italian standards, operatic classics, Broadway arias and original material, accompanied by a multimedia presentation of Italy.

Opening is Angela Theis, a soprano who is no stranger to Michigan Opera Theater audiences.

Tickets are $68, $58 and $28.

• Greek comedian Basile will make his Celebrity Showroom debut on Friday 29 April.

The bilingual comedian is known for his improvisational skills and his characters. He was recently nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on ESPN’s “30 for 30” series “The Legend of Jimmy the Greek,” as the voice of Jimmy “The Greek” Snyder.

Tickets are $46.

• Classic rockers The Guess Who close out the month on Saturday April 30 with a show full of hits.

The Canadian group’s long career is tied to 14 Top 10 hits, including “These Eyes”, “American Woman”, “Star Baby”, “Share the Land”, “Clap for the Wolfman” and others.

Tickets are $78, $68, $55 and $28.

Andiamo Celebrity Showroom is located at 7096 E. 14 Mile Road (west of Van Dyke Avenue) in Warren. The 800-seat venue offers a rare Vegas-style setting and an intimate, intimate show experience.
