Backstage with Hermitude by Dougal Gorman
Hermitude recently completed a massive world tour, riding a wave of momentum generated by their 2019 album Pollyanarchy. The live dates saw the couple hit Asia, North America, New Zealand and, of course, Australia, leaving a satisfied wake with fans everywhere they landed.
While they were kind and close to home at Wollongong University, photographer Dougal Gorman was there to take some pictures. Him and a case of Martell Blue Swift.
Go backstage with Australian dance duo Hermitude at the end of their 2019 world tour, as photographer Dougal Gorman recounts.
Hermitude’s performance was flanked into the night by Haiku Hands and Boom Child, who turned the crowd around way ahead of the tee time. UOW has a reputation for some particularly wild shows, and this particular shindig was no exception.
The duo, consisting of Luke Dubs and Elgusto, have been turning the crowds on for over 15 years now. Their live show has been reduced to something downright dangerous, a cheerful concoction of iconic dance tunes and their fair share of dramatic, live-only moments.
For those who want to catch Hermitude in the flesh this silly season, you have only two options left; NYE in the park in Sydney or Party in the paddock near Launceston, Tasmania. Enter all the details here.
Until then, take a look at the rest of the plans below.
