Copper City Community Connection Recognizes Recent Active Lifestyle Award Recipients
ROME — The Copper City Community Connection, 305 E. Locust St., has recognized the latest recipients of the President’s Active Lifestyle Award.
Elizabeth Pettinelli, Mary E. McNeil, Phyllis Didio, Ruth Weltz, Darlene Hertel, Carol Acomb and Harriet Brennan worked for eight weeks to meet healthy eating and physical activity goals set by the President’s Council on Sports, fitness and nutrition. Winners achieved 150 minutes of physical activity each week, while meeting healthy eating goals by eating six of the nine components of the Healthy Eating Pattern or limiting added sugars, saturated fats or reducing sodium intake.
A new eight-week session of the program began on Monday, according to an announcement from Copper City Community Connection.
