Falz, Uche Jombo and more celebrities celebrate their first birthday

Nigerian celebrities took to social media, especially the microblogging site Twitter, to mark the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest.

A year ago, it was reported that #EndSARS protesters were gunned down by members of the Nigerian military at the Lekki toll booth; an action which led to the loss of life.

Marking the first anniversary of the #EndSARS protest, popular Nigerian musician and social activist Folarin Falana, affectionately known as Falz, tweeted: “365 days ago Nigerian citizens were shot and killed at the toll booth by our own military.

“Today we honor them because they sacrificed their very existence for a cause greater than all of us. They live forever in our hearts.

Also, marking the first anniversary of the sad incident, Nigerian actress Uche Jombo via her verified Twitter account, wrote: “October 20! A day in history! #EndSARSMemorial #EndSARS that we will never forget! ”

Popular Disc Jockey, DJ Cuppy, simply tweeted, “We will NEVER forget! Flag of Nigeria Broken Heart #EndSARSMemorial #EndPoliceBrutality. The “Lazy Young Nigerians” are changing Nigeria and sacrificing their own lives for generations to come !!! “(Sic)

Sound singer Tems, while marking the sad event that happened last year, tweeted: “The bullets, the blood and the tears. We will never forget. #EndSARSMemorial.
