Girls’ night! Three generations of Spanish royalty present the perfect summer wardrobe
Letizia, current queen and wife of King Felipe VI of Spain, 49, opted for a pink and white shirt dress from Spanish retailer Zara. The eye-catching design has been dubbed by discerning street style sleuths the brand’s ‘It Dress’ of this year, its popularity being compared to the infamous £40 polka dot midi dress from 2019 which had an Instagram account run by IRL spotting fans and increased the company’s sales by just 5% during its peak. Letizia paired the piece with a Feel Mallorca canvas flap clutch and pink wedge espadrilles from Clouui, two other Spanish retailers.
Queen Letizia’s daughters, Princess Leonor, 16, and Infanta Sofía, 15, also chose to champion Zara’s affordable elegance for the occasion. Sofia donned an azure floral cashmere shirt dress with a white Adoldo Domínguez handbag and matching Mint & Rose pumps, while Sofía kept it minimal in a striped wrap style with wedges from Macarena Shoes.
It was a rare outing for the Spanish style scions, in which they proudly flew the flag of local and high street designers. They say three is a magic number, and Zara just got a triple-generation royal seal of approval. . We’ll see you at your local outpost.
