Iconic Dubai Run set to return to Sheikh Zayed Road in November



Dubai Run, one of the highlights of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, is set to return to Sheikh Zayed Road on Friday, November 26. Registration for this highly anticipated event is now open to runners of all ages and levels.

Following the success of the Dubai Run over the past two years, tens and thousands of people are expected to take to the city’s giant running track, with a 5km course specially designed for families and a 10km course for children. amateur and professional runners.

The event is aligned with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council, to transform the city into the most active metropolis in the world and the broader vision of doing Dubai the world’s best city to live, work and visit.

With the start line close to the spectacular Museum of Future, all runners will pass some of Dubai’s instantly recognizable landmarks, including the Emirates Towers and Downtown Dubai, before crossing the finish line at Al Mustaqbal Street, near the Dubai World Trade Center. Runners on the 10km course will also pass the Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa and Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard.

This year there are plenty of opportunities to prepare for the Dubai Run, with warm-up events taking place across the city in October and November. These include the Dubai Academic City Run, Dubai South Run, CBD Run on The Palm and Dubai Design District Run as well as a special Halloween run on October 30 and Expo 2020 Dubai Run. November 19. This year’s Dubai Fitness Challenge will feature a busy calendar of free fitness events, classes and wellness activities at live events across the city. These include three fitness villages at Kite Beach, Expo 2020 Dubai and Mushrif Park, 14 community fitness centers in Dubai and over 5,000 free fitness classes. In addition to the Dubai Run, Dubai Ride will also be back for 2021, giving everyone the chance to get busy and see the city from two wheels.

With over a million community members expected, all DFC activities will comply with Covid-19 regulations and social distancing mandates. Participants are also encouraged to follow guidelines regarding their own safety, such as wearing masks, in public areas.
