Taylor Hawkins death: Celebrities mourn the death of the Foo Fighters drummer at 50

Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins sadly passed away on March 25, 2022, the band confirmed via social media. The iconic drummer was in Bogota, Colombia with the band when he died aged 50, just two days before they performed at Lollapalooza Brazil. Hawkins is now mourned by millions of fans around the world, as social media is flooded with messages of condolence for the band and their family.

Hawkins now joins a growing list of celebrities the world has bid farewell to, just three months into the new year. On February 22, it was announced that Screaming Trees singer Mark Lanegan had died aged 57. In January, Los Angeles residents also bid farewell to the iconic Marty Roberts, a regular at the city’s Dresden Lounge for more than 30 years. In January, singer and actor Meat Loaf died at 74, after years of ill health.

Right now, it’s not just regular social media users who are mourning Hawkins, but also major celebrities and bands. The whole world seems united in mourning the loss of the iconic drummer, who in 2005 was voted “Best Rock Drummer” by British magazine Rhythm. “The world was so lucky”

“In utter disbelief at the news of Taylor Hawkins. Our deepest condolences to his family, bandmates, crew, friends and all who have been touched by the music he has created with @foofighters @ Alanis and so many others. It’s so incredibly sad,” the Nickelback band tweeted. Drummer Christian Coma said: “Omg…so disappointed with the passing of Taylor Hawkins. He was the nicest guy when I met him, and he was such an influential drummer. My heart goes out to his family, to the Foo Fighters and all those affected by the loss of a legend.Musician Tom Morello also weighed in, tweeting, “God bless you Taylor Hawkins. I loved your spirit and your unstoppable rock power. Rest in peace my friend.”





Mike Portnoy also mourned Hawlin’s death, tweeting, “In absolute shock and disbelief at the passing of Taylor Hawkins. I have always had so much admiration for him. An incredible drummer and a gem of a guy who was always fun to be around. I’m absolutely disgusted…deepest condolences to his bandmates and family.” American far-right activist Jack Posobiec commented: “Taylor Hawkins is gone at 50. You never know how long you have.” Finneas O’Connell tweeted: “So heartbroken to hear of the passing of Taylor Hawkins, what an amazing talent, who didn’t need to be so kind and generous and cool but was all of those too anyway. The everyone was so lucky to have his gifts for the weather he did, Rest In Peace.”







Kiss frontman Paul Stanley also hyped Hawkins’ death, tweeting, “Speechless and Gutted. Taylor was a great guy, father and husband. My heart goes out to them, Dave and the band. What a horrible New.” Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill said: “Rest in peace Taylor Hawkins. Such a great person is gone way too soon.” Supreme Court attorney Neal Katyal also mourned Hawkins, tweeting, “Ugh how sad. RIP Taylor. You were an amazing light.”
