Veterans Day Activities
Post 106 will perform two ceremonies on Veterans Day.
At 9 a.m. November 11, American Legion Post 106 will present a new American Flag and POW Flag to the City of Forks in honor of all veterans and their families in love and gratitude to them and their families for their service and sacrifice.
The ceremony will take place at Tillicum Park at the garrison flag pole.
At 11 a.m., the American Legion will hold a ceremony, at the Gold Star Families Memorial, Forks Transit Center, to honor all veterans, living and dead, and their families who also sacrificed.
In honor of veterans, the service is held on the 11th month, 11th day, 11th hour.
Please join us as we honor those who have served our nation and our families.
Assembly of QVSD Veterans
The Quillayute Valley School District will hold a Veterans Day Assembly on Friday, November 12 beginning at 2:15 p.m.
All veterans are welcome to attend.
Due to COVID, only high school students will be in the gym and all other students will watch the event live. In this way, the spectators can disperse.
Forks Elks Plan Veterans Dinner
The Forks Elks Lodge, 941 Merchant Rd., will be hosting a Veterans Drive-In Dinner on Sunday, Nov. 14 from 5-6:30 p.m.
The dinner is free for all veterans and widows of veterans; all others are invited to donate. On the menu; roast pork, mashed potatoes, green beans and TBA dessert.
The group of volunteers who usually place flags at Forks Cemetery for Veterans Day were unable to do so this year. They plan to come back for Memorial Day.
