Wicker Park Fest is back this weekend with live music, arts, fashion
CHICAGO – Wicker Park Fest is back for its 17th year. It runs from Friday to Sunday and offers live music and entertainment for all tastes and ages.
Voted “best” street festival in Chicago, it reflects the rich musical and cultural heritage of Wicker Park, with more than 20 bands and more than 60 vendors.
Above all, the organizers said the Wicker Park Fest is a music-driven festival and always attracts some of the summer’s most sought-after artists. This year’s bands include American punk rock band Masked Intruder, ’90s indie rock pioneers Archers Of Loaf and Smoking Popes of Chicago.
Ric Wilson is also ready to perform with his party-ready hip-hop with a smart twist. It is a product of Young Chicago Authors, the same creative writing program as Chance the Rapper, Vic Mensa and Jamila Woods.
Wicker Park Fest offers a colorful mix of neighborhood restaurants, shops and artisans. A $ 10 donation at the box office benefits the Wicker Park Bucktown Chamber of Commerce, a local non-profit organization specializing in helping small businesses.
